Some of my prettier ROSES...

Roses are my favorite flowers. They are loved world-wide.
Roses are in the
Kingdom:
Plantae
Division:
Magnoliophyea
Class:
Magnoliopsida
Order:
Rosales
Family:
Roseceae
Subfamily:
Rosoideae
Genus:
Rosa L.
Roses are one of the most popular garden shrubs, as well as the most popular and commonly-sold florists' flowers. In addition to their great economic importance as a florists' crop, roses are also of great value to the perfume industry. Old World roses were brought to North America by European settlers in the 16th and 17th centuries. They originally came from China where they are highly prized garden roses; trimmed and pampered like no other.
Different colors mean:

Light Pink: admiration, sympathy

Orange: passion
Burgundy: beauty
Blue: mystery
Green: calm
Black: slavish devotion (a true black rose is impossible to produce)
Purple: protection (paternal/maternal love)
